Sometimes the smallest steps in the right direction...ends up being the biggest leap of your life!

Anyone wishing to start a career on the railway needs to hold a current sentinel card and be on the register in order to work on the rail infrastructure.

Prior to attending PTS training, the delegate must have in his possession a valid company *letter of ‘Sponsorship’, a valid *Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) Certificate, and a valid *Medical Certificate.

Practical and theory work plus assessment

PTS ensures that rail workers are aware of their surroundings so that they do not enter situations where accidents are likely to occur, are able to move around the lineside safely and are able to react appropriately to circumstances (e.g. the approach of a train).

  • Verification Exercise (Candidates must score at least 18 out of 20)

  • Training Track visit (Assessment)
  • Live Track Visit (90 minutes out on a live track)
